LEADERSHIP IN A SELF-ORGANIZING WORLD

May 14-17, 2009

[Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat]

Leavenworth, WA

What does it mean to organize and what does it mean to lead when everything is self-organizing?

Many of us locally, nationally, globally have been experimenting with new forms of organizing and leading for years and decades. Others are seeking new ways as the old practices are insufficient to the challenges they are facing. We gathered to bring together our experiments, efforts, stories, wisdom, and questions.

For post-gathering information, visit:

The "Co-Evolving Our Futures" image is by [Nancy Margulies] and illustrates how generative conversations by small groups of concerned citizens can lead to big changes through the development of communities of practice and systems of influence. The image is on page 208 of [The World Cafe] by Juanita Brown with David Isaacs and the World Cafe Community.
